Elva Couriers - On the Road
The Mk1 Courier, somewhat modernized with the black trim, but the split flat glass windshield shows it's true age. Even dated in 1958 when the car was introduced. Note the locations of the front turn indicator above the bumper vs the Mk2
Scott Philiben's Mk2 clearly shows the improved styling with a single curved glass windshield. The modern monochrome paint doesn't look half bad now. I've noticed that the placement of the front emblem is higher up the body than mine, the result of hand assembly or creative repair work.
Harold Berger's Mk4 T-type clearly shows the updates brought on by Trojan. Wire wheels, roll-up windows, and revised styling are the visible changes. Standard four wheel independent suspension and more powerful 1800cc MGB engine are the real improvements.
The coupe was designed primarily to help boost sales. Not very successful, today the are indeed a rare example of a rare car. Earl Pierce's 1964 model is a nice example. Steve Drabant's Coupe is a little rough maybe...
Hans Christensen has one of the nicest Courier's I have seen.
Picture's of my Yellow Mk2 I should have mowed the lawn before I took these pictures but instead I washed the car!
